According to a gallup by finnish TV station, MTV3, only 56% of finnish digital photographers make some kind of backups of their photo collections. This isn’t very impressive figure. In addition, 46% of people making backups are not doing them regularly. It is not a suprise that 15% of respondents have lost their pictures because of broken hardware or human errors.

Backups are mostly done with CD and DVD discs. External hard disks are used only by 12% of respondents. Various network storages are not popular yet, only 4 percents have used these services.
